Educational programmingThe MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History provides free outreach programs for schools and other groups within 15 miles of the museum. Truman-MacArthur Controversy Education packetsWe provide educational packets which include tools that can be used within the classroom to coincide with a variety of historical subjects. The packets include information on the Civil War, the Tuskegee Airmen, World War I and II. The packets relate to our exhibits and the Arkansas social studies strands. Some of the items included in the packet are age appropriate bibliographies, additional subject related activities, crossword puzzles, coloring sheet for younger children, facts sheets, search a words and so on. We have also created subject specific Power Point presentations that teachers can use in the classroom or one of our employees can come and present to the class room. Search-a-word-Tuskegee Men Outreach programsAs part of our education program the museum has several off-site presentations prepared to bring the museum to you. We can also create a presentation to meet your educational needs, such as the Civil War, World War II, etc. We also have a traveling trunk that we can take with us to your school, church group, senior center or any other establishment. Scavenger huntsAs part of our education program we offer a variety of scavenger hunts that lead students and scouts through a self-guiding tour of the museum. Each question leads students to an exhibit within the museum. We also offer an outdoor scavenger hunt that will lead students or scouts on a brisk walk through the park. The outdoor scavenger hunt traces the diversity and culture found in Little Rock by discovering the different monuments in the park.
