These photos of
New Zealanders in the Battle of Egypt were taken by official
photographers during action on the El Alamein front. Fierce New
Zealand troops have joined other United Nations forces on the fighting
front, and have done much to stem the Axis march toward Alexandria,
large British Naval base in Egypt. These are said to be the first
pictures of New Zealanders participating in the Western Desert
campaign during June and July, 1942. |
